The deep forests and high altitude scrublands of Europe are home to numerous wild deer. To control their numbers and protect the woodlands, hunting is actively encouraged. We source our hides from artisan tanners who live in these forests. The hides are pit-tanned for many months in clean, unadulterated mountain stream water. This age-old technique is ecologically-friendly and allows the natural character of the hide to shine through.
